Dr. Karen Allison, M.D, MBA, FACS

Dr. Karen Allison

Dr. Karen Allison, M.D. is a board certified ophthalmologist accredited by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She completed her medical school training at UMDNJ- Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and her residency in ophthalmology at SUNY, Brooklyn, New York. She is fellowship trained in glaucoma – her area of special interest. Dr. Allison practices general ophthalmology with an expertise in glaucoma. Our office specializes in ophthalmologic disorders, their diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Dean Polistina M.D, Ph.D

Dr. Dean Polistina

Dr. Polistina is an ophthalmic surgeon and physician certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He graduated with honors from The University of California at Los Angeles in 1981.He earned his Ph.D. at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia (1988) where he was both a research and teaching fellow in the Department of Anatomy. His doctoral work was in the area of Plasticity and Regeneration in the Mammalian Spinal Cord.As a teaching fellow he lectured and taught Neuroanatomy to students in the medical program. After his Ph.D. he earned his M.D. (also at the Medical College of Pennsylvania) (1992). Dr. Polistina completed his ophthalmology residency at Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital (1996), and his Board Certification in 1997.
Dr. Polistina’s academic appointments include: Assistant Clinical Professor at the Mt Sinai-New York Eye and Ear Infirmary and Assistant Clinical Professor at the State University of New York – University Eye Center in Manhattan. He is currently a sub-investigator in a phase III clinical trial, dry eye study, at the SUNY-UEC. Dr. Polistina has been in private practice for almost 20 years in New York City and Westchester County.
He is a member of the faculty practice at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
